Maine DOE is providing each educational district in Maine with Infinite Campus District Edition as a replacement to the existing SIS applications currently in use. Infinite Campus District Edition is the industry leading Student Information System and is used by over 1,400 school districts throughout the nation. District Edition is successfully used in Maine by eight public school districts in Maine.

Infinite Campus District Edition is also the foundation for NASIS, the Native American Student Information System in use by all Tribal Schools in the United States, including those in Maine.

MDOE has completed the pilot project with five Maine districts that agreed to participate in a Pilot project which coincides with the MEDMS replacement project. These units are now using Infinite Campus District Edition for daily operations. We are thankful for their efforts to also work out a framework for implementation that will allow the future implementations of Infinite Campus to be done using a common model.

Infinite Campus is now being rolled out to 32 additional districts in Maine. We are presently anticipating that over 40% of the Maine student population will be administrered by Infinite Campus District Edition by the start of the 2009-2010 school year.
