When will we start?

Custom originally planned to start discussions with districts before the end of April, but as per the April 17th email, we were not able to complete planning due to incomplete information.

Without accurate information, the logistics (hotels, flights, rental cars, etc.) for scheduling about 200 training sessions cannot be finalized.

We have since gathered most of the required information and a Project Manager assigned to your school, district, or RSU will reach out to you in the next two weeks.
When will we be live (use Infinite Campus as our only active SIS)?

The answer depends on each school, district, or RSU.  The quicker we receive quality information, the earlier you can be live.  The earliest realistic date is the end of July.  Our target is to have everyone live by August 10th.

Who will be trained?

Based on the information we are gathering a complete training plan will be built to provide the correct training to the correct audiance at the most appropriate time. This training will include all persons who interact with Infinite Campus.

When will the training occur?

The following dates have been secured (trainers are allocated to deliver training during these weeks).  Each district will receive up to 13 days of training over these weeks.  The assigned project manager will discuss the individual schedules with you during your kickoff meeting.

6/22 - 6/26
7/6 - 7/10
7/13 - 7/17
8/10 - 8/14
8/17 - 8/21
We will complete our middle and high school scheduling in the legacy system, but we typically do not schedule our elementary schools until the summer. How should we proceed?

Building class rosters for elementary schools are a very quick process in Infinite Campus.  Determining the number of classes, teacher assignments and even student placement can be done prior to August 10th outside of Infinite Campus.  Once the live site exists, the elementary classes can be created and populated with students.  This is a manual process, but as stated before, it is a quick process.  The same process can be followed in smaller middle schools.
What is a “Coach?”

Infinite Campus supports a tiered support model where users within each district makes use of  in-house support before escalating issues to the Infinite Campus support desk.    The in-house support personnel are known as “coaches”.  There are two types of coaches:  Building Coaches and Teacher Coaches.  Building Coaches will be able to support all users.  Teacher coaches will support teachers only.  Teacher coaches (or building coaches) will train teachers (turn-key).

In the tiered support model, coaches can escalate issues to one of the two staff members who can contact support.  Infinite Campus allows two staff members from each of AOS 92, MSAD 8, Region 7, Region 8, RSU 2, RSU 4, RSU 10, RSU 13, RSU 14, RSU 16, RSU 19, RSU 20, RSU 23, RSU 24, RSU 25, and RSU 34 to call the support desk.
What makes a good “Building Coach”? How many do we need?

The answer to how many you need depends on the size of your district, number of staff to support, and also the support structure you currently have in place.  If one or two users currently answer all questions from users for your existing SIS, then you can make use of the same users to be your coaches.  As a rule, we suggest 1 building coach per secondary building and 1 to cover all elementary schools.

Who should be Teacher Coaches? How many do we need?

Typically you need at least 2 teacher coaches per secondary building and 1 per elementary building.  Teacher coaches can be teachers.  They are often department heads.  Teacher coaches need similar attributes as building coaches.  They will train other teachers.  The willingness to help others is by far the most important attribute of a teacher coach.  If you do not plan to use electronic standards-based reporting (rubric report cards) on the elementary level, then you may not need a teacher coach for the elementary level (the building coach may be sufficient).  The assigned project manager will be able to guide you with this decision if you are unsure.
Do we need to pay for staff to come in for training over the summer?

You may have to.  It depends from district to district.  Some of your 10 or 11 month staff may be trained over the summer.
There is no need to bring all teachers in over the summer.  If your teacher coaches are teachers, then you may need to bring those teachers in.  General teacher training can be turn-keyed by the district the day before the students come back.  You will need less than an hour to get teachers comfortable with taking attendance on day 1.  Grading training can be delivered after school starts.
Are there any state reporting considerations?

Yes.  All state reporting requirements until June 30th should be addressed using your existing SIS and/or entering information into the state site.

Can we start doing some work in preparation?

Yes, there is much you can do to prepare for this implementation. Please read on.
